Brave BAT Rewards Nice Bonus and a Great Browser

Brave Browser Rewards are trickling in. So far I've earned 3.00 BAT (Basic Attention Token) for clicking on 60 ad notifications since I enabled 'Ads' on the browse about 2 weeks ago. This only amounts to $1.10 USD but it's not really about the monetary value, it's about the ability to control what advertisements we want to see and those we don't.



Before switching to the Brave browser I was a long time user of Mozilla's open-source Firefox web browser. I was happy to learn that former Mozilla co-founder and CEO Brendan Eich is behind the new Brave venture. I've made it a point to try to avoid using industry staples like Chrome and Safari whenever possible and as for using the latest Internet Explorer version, Edge, no way in hell.

The browser is based of the open-source Chromium which is also the foundation Google Chrome is built upon. This means that Brave is more similar to Chrome than to Firefox and it is even being touted as been equal or better than Chrome performance-wise (depending on who you talk to, of course).

I don't know about you dear reader, but I value my privacy and Brave certainly makes privacy a priority. It has a built in ad blocker, HTTPS upgrader, and even a TOR enabled privacy tab (although for not as secure as using the original Onion browser itself). No need to add any of these extensions they're already there, ready to go. The browser also gets to work in the anti-tracking department, preventing websites from adding cookies and trackers to your browser. According to my Brave browser more than 22k ads have been blocked and hundreds of trackers already. I have no way of knowing if this is accurate or not but it's an impressive number.

Additionally, if you're like me and have a bunch of bookmarks from your previous browser Chrome/Firefox you can easily import the data over to Brave. It's simple, trust me.

A unique feature native to the browser relates to the ERC-20 BAT token. Brave has integrated the token into the browser itself with a built in crypto wallet where you can add deposit BAT.

The wallet is able to receive several different tokens including: BTC, ETH, and Litecoin which are all automatically converted into BAT tokens. You can use the BAT tokens in your wallet to donate to content creators and publishers that have signed up for the Brave Publishers program. It's important to NOTE that the wallet is UNIDIRECTIONAL. This means that BAT flows to publisher sites. You can register your website with Brave to become a verified content creator allowing you to receive tips and donations.

I wasn't expecting to like Brave as much as I do but I'm already using it more than Firefox and can see myself making the switch full time in the near future.
