Brave Browser Launches Performance Enhancements Called SpeedReader

Brave Software, the startup behind the Brave browser and Basic Attention Token (BAT) has launched a new feature called SpeedReader.

This feature will be aired early next year and is designed to improve the performance and speed of loading pages in the Brave browser. The announcement from Brave Software explains that the SpeedReader determines which information from web pages is important to increase the page loading speed.

Data shows that page loading speed increased by 27x while network usage was reduced by 84x. Brave Software also shows that the SpeedReader does not work on all websites because the site must be readable so that the browser can display pages that are changed correctly Brave Software also says that the SpeedReader is useful on 22% of pages and 65% of content published through RSS feeds can be read.
