Should Kell Brook have fought to the end? My View

The buzz topic in the boxing world right now is about the welterweight IBF championship fight between Kell "the special one" Brook (Sheffield, UK) and Earl "the truth" Spence (Dallas, USA) which more than lived up to the hype around it. For those who may have been preoccupied by the recent mini crash in the crypto currency market and missed the fight, Earl Spence won in the eleventh round by TKO. The fighters were evenly matched and this was evident during the closely contested fight. I personally had Brook up one round by the seventh round which was really the round where all things changed.

One thing Earl Spence is known for is his punching power and this was demonstrated in a punch he layed into Brooks eye in the seventh round. As the fight continued the swelling got worse and this clearly effected Brook for a very legitimate reason. In his previous fight Brooks left eye socket got ruptured so much so that he required surgery on it, during the surgery they had to take his eye ball out to fix the eye socket before putting it back in with the warning that if he had carried on fighting (His trainer had surrendered the fight for Brooks safety) he may well have become blind. This warning must has rung loudly in his head as he felt his other eye swelling up on Saturdays night but with a warriors spirit he carried on fighting in front of his home town. Now there are many more layers I can paint in order for you to get a more vivid picture but I just want to get to my point. In the eleventh round Kell Brook basically quit the fight due to not being able to see out of his eye properly. To me if you are a boxer and you make the decision to take a fight quitting is not an option especially as a champion in front of your home crowd. Don't get me wrong I fully understand the complexities with regards to his health and that is why I feel he shouldn't have taken the fight as the demons of his previous fight are still haunting him.
