TOP 10 MISTAKES IN E-ZINE PUBLISHING TO AVOID
A must-read for all experienced E-Zine publishers and those just starting to publish E-Zines
Introduction

Publishing an electronic magazine is a profitable business. More and more people are jumping on the e-zine publishing bandwagon. Anyone can get an autoresponder and create their own newsletters and online courses for their subscribers at a low cost. It's no wonder that ezines are the preferred medium for creating directories and selling advertising space.

However, beginners make many mistakes.Mistakes like sending unsolicited emails and not focusing on your core business are common mistakes made every day. These issues need to be addressed so that profits do not go to waste.

That's why I wrote this guide showing how to overcome these common mistakes.

Send electronic magazines from Yahoo! or Gmail

Part of the temptation for beginners is to create an email group and start sending messages from your personal email.

This may seem completely harmless at first if you have around 10-20 people on your list, but once your subscriber count gets above 50 people, you're going to have a big problem.

First, you need to manually manage the people who have recently subscribed to your list. If you want to unsubscribe, you also have to log out manually, which leads to an enormous administrative effort.

The worst thing is that most ISPs don't allow you to send bulk emails to multiple people at the same time. Of course, they set their own limits so that spammers don't prey on unsuspecting people through their networks.

If you're not careful, you might even lose your subscriber list since your entire list is on your computer's hard drive. If you don't back up your

computer, you could lose hundreds or even thousands of subscribers who spent so much time and sleepless nights creating them.

Don't be silly: Make sure you have an efficient and reliable autoresponder that does all the work for you.

Register people without forcing them to subscribe.

One of the biggest beginner mistakes in e-zines is subscribing to other mailing lists without their consent. You think that just because they're on one of my lists, I automatically get permission to put them on another list.

Believe me: Unwanted recordings pose a serious threat online and will get you into serious trouble! In the worst case scenario, you will be accused of spam and your IP address will be blacklisted by ISPs.

You have to do the right thing. If you want to build your list or invite people to sign up, make sure you send them the appropriate invitation form (or landing page). If they log in manually, you will receive their consent. Remember, you have to “convince” them again why they should sign up for your new list and never take shortcuts.

Don't share good and useful content
Some publishers are so obsessed with driving traffic and sales that they only sell products and only talk about themselves in their ezines. Use their ezines to brag about their size and the success of their JV partners, to the point of boring their subscribers.

Another common problem is that e-zine publishers overload their e-zines with so much advertising that their readers' reading enjoyment is impaired.

How would you feel if you bought the latest computer gadget magazine (if you're a man) or the latest beauty magazine (for women) and had to dig through a haystack to find the CONTENTS page? I'm sure you'll have trouble finding the page number or logging out.

Content is the most important thing. Never deviate from it. But more importantly, the main topic should be content that is relevant to subscribers.

What you need to do for your subscribers is to provide useful content in about 80% of your ezine and save the rest for paid advertising. It's a healthy balance.

Don't focus on your business.

On the other side of the coin, there are many publishers who talk about anything and everything and provide their readers with strong and useful content, but forget the most important thing: making money.

Ultimately, publishing an ezine is about making money. You can't do this without promoting yourself and your business. In any business, remember that branding is everything and you need to create that awareness in your e-magazine while providing good content.
Learn how to use strategically placed affiliate links so your potential customers don't feel like they're being “sold” to someone. Talk about them first, then the solution for them, and finally YOUR solution for them. End everything with a call to action. This way you don't waste your subscribers' traffic.

Post whenever you feel like it

Did you know that you need to stay in touch with your followers as often as possible?

There are millions of people on the Internet. If you don't keep in touch with them, they will most likely forget about you and your ezine. Don't let this happen to your company! It's easier to retain an existing customer or subscriber than to acquire a completely new one!

The publisher regularly conveys to its readers that you are organized and able to meet deadlines and commitments.

You need to learn to build time into your publishing schedule. The way to get there is to create something like an online course in advance. Then post them every day or every three days. Use this time to work on another product or create content for your ezine.

Even if you don't have specific content for your subscribers, try to stay in touch with them as regularly as possible.Even a simple “Hello” followed by a link to someone else’s website (preferably an affiliate program) will do the trick!

Neglect of old archives
An essential part of the ezine publishing process is moving from issue to issue. The further you progress, the more you will find that there are many previous problems on your hard drive, and sometimes people tend to overlook previous problems because they think they are outdated or useless.

Unless your information is completely out of date, there are many things you can do with pending numbers. You can offer your archived number as a sample number to potential subscribers on your website or blog.
,
people read back issues and follow your journey. You will be able to attract more visitors who are hesitant to subscribe to your ezine, thus giving you a larger list to promote your products to.

Additionally, you'll also attract lots of new people looking to buy ad space because they'll be able to view your archived spend and see how your ads have performed so far.

Forgot to publish your ezine as RSS

. RSS is one of the many ways people access your content without having to go directly to your website or blog. In most cases, ezine publishers want their subscribers to sign up directly via email or autoresponder because it allows them to track the size of their list.

However, neglecting RSS is a very bad thing.Even if you can't meet the needs of every subscriber, enabling RSS is one way to attract readers across many different platforms. There are people who are lazy and prefer to read everything on their feeds. Do your best to meet their needs.

Another benefit of publishing in RSS format is that you can increase your readership and sales by bypassing any email filters. If your email sent to your ezine is titled
Since the marketer and we often correspond via email, I receive emails from him and emails from his autoresponder.

One look at the email and I already know whether it's from him personally and whether he's sending it to a large group.

If you don't know how to customize your email titles, you'll lose a lot of readers (sometimes even the ones who are your subscribers - they may be busy with other things to think about).

Always speak in a personal tone instead of constantly selling products to your followers, otherwise they will think that you are just trying to extort money from them.

I never offer bonuses.

Sometimes people forget to offer bonuses to their subscribers. They forget that they should offer freebies every now and then to entice them to stay. You can also use bonuses to encourage people to sign up as a new subscriber.

Try writing a free report on the latest events and offer it as a bonus. Tell them how much the report is worth and increase the value visitors place on your price by telling them how much it would be worth if you charged a fee for it.

For example:

"Normally I would charge $27 for this special report, but I'm offering it free to my loyal subscribers..."

You would increase the perceived value of your bonus and make your subscribers feel pampered will be at the same time.

Never neglect this effective method!

Summary

Beginners make a lot of mistakes, but the worst mistake that can happen is repeating your mistakes over and over again. Don't take it for granted. If you continue to make mistakes, you will lose credibility with your subscribers and joint venture partners (even if you are an experienced e-publisher.

Always be vigilant and watch for blind spots you may have missed).Keep improving your work and you can be sure that online wealth will flow to you.

Good luck!
