BORA Island Weekly Project Update
As the cryptocurrency market has been experiencing some heavy storms this past week, I took some time to look more into projects and do additional research. This time I am writing an update about BORA and their recent announcements.
WAY2BIT
BORA’s parent company and developer WAY2BIT announced this week it received a 2 billion KRW (approximately 2 million Dollar) investment from Dunamu & Partners. After careful consideration and extensive project research, Dunami & Partners had enough confidence in the teams capabilities to build BORA’s decentralized platform.
WAY2BIT speaker at biggest gaming conference in Korea
During this years’ Korean gaming conference G-Star 2018, WAY2BIT CEO Song Gyehan, spoke on behalf of WAY2BIT and BORA, where he presented the topic of gaming in combination with blockchain technology. Mr. Gyehan also addressed their digital contents platform, BORA. He talked about BORA being comprised of four main features: BORA Island the token wallet service for all users, BORA Lagoon testnet for developers to test the platform, BORA Explorer which offers transparency in showing all the transactions on the BORA network and BORA Atoll which is an information guide for business partners.
Blockchain technology R&D institute
On the 16th of November WAY2BIT announced the launch of their blockchain technology institute that focuses on research and development. The institute is led by Cheon Kyoungwook who is an expert in the field of network security. Mr. Kyoungwook will function as the lead of the R&D team. The institute will focus on doing extensive in-depth research into Ethereum, EOS-based network uploading on a large scale, real-time conversions between digital assets and more.
BORA Lagoon
BORA has launched its testnet called BORA Lagoon in October and it has planned to launch their mainnet in the second quarter of 2019.
On BORA Lagoon you can request testnet tokens, interact with the BORA Token Manager, exchange BORA ERC20 tokens for BORA Swell (the internal platform token), view transactions on the platform in BORA explorer, play the test game Tower Blocks or check out the developer functions.
Below you will find an overview of the project’s roadmap.
