My New Books Arrived: Huxley, Hesse, Hall, Vonnegut, Orwell, and Watts.

in #books5 years ago (edited)

I just received a package today of some really special books I ordered a couple weeks ago. I’ve read a few of them before but had lost them due to moving, lending them out (you know how that goes) or just misplacing them over time. Others are works I’m familiar with but have never read. What do they all have in common? Truth, in one form or another, and in a variety of different styles.

I’m really excited to read Cat’s Cradle, I’ve heard much about it and am a fan of Vonnegut but never had the time (or the book).

If you’re a fan of any of the following, please be sure to give me a follow because we’re likeminded. I’ll follow back!

  • Terence McKenna
  • Rupert Sheldrake
  • Alan Watts
  • Manley P. Hall
  • Aldous Huxley
  • Kurt Vonnegut
  • H.L. Mencken
  • Ralph Abraham
  • Jeremy Narby
  • Rick Strassman
  • Daniel Pinchbeck
  • Robert Anton Wilson

I’m actively seeking people on steemit who share the similar interests but it’s not easy to find you all. I had a good group a couple years ago, but many of them disappeared from steemit and my feed is pretty boring and uninteresting now.

Oo 1984, I like that story.

Believe it or not I’ve never read it - that’s why I picked it up.. I’ve read chapter-long excerpts and seen the film several times but I’ve gotta read it, finally.
