Read. Learn. Apply.

in #books5 years ago

As a self confessed info junkie, I am always searching for the next hack, tip or new strategy.

This means that I devour books. Lots of them. Whether Kindle books, audio books (Audible or Scribd) or good old fashioned paperbacks.

They all get read. Then discarded. After each, I am thinking:

Where's the next info fix?

I rarely pause to absorb and implement the best and most relevant ideas that I've learnt from that last book.

I'm just onto the next book. Too busy reading, less busy doing.

So in 2020, that's a new rule that I am setting for myself: I am going to attempt to at least write up notes on what I learnt from each book. And I will share them here.

How do you synthesize what you have learnt from each book?

One good thing that happens to me is the sweet feeling I get, when I have the opportunity to apply any knowledge gained from reading.

No knowledge is lost.

At the right time you will find yourself applying knowledge gained from reading.

It is a good thing to read as much as you can.

Reading is great fun and having the opportunity to apply it is greater fun.

Thanks
