Books: Big Bad Wolf No-Sleep Book Sale in Manila
Imagine 231 hours of non-stop book sale. Twenty-four hours of open book store in ten straight days. Literally shop 'til you drop and your wallets, ATM carf, debit card, and credit card cry. I experienced that during the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale in Manila where you can avail books of international title with a whopping 50-60% off. Book lovers will go gaga over this.
The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale started in Malaysia and was first help on 2009 in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. For the first time it was held in the Philippines.
The 24-hour book sale opened last February 16 but I got lucky to be one of the winners of preview pass and experienced the preview sale. The doors would open at 9AM but I was already there at 7AM to get my pass. I am used to sales. The early bird catches the worms. I was a bit drowsy because of lack of sleep but I must find the books on my bucket list.
Each pass admits two pax.
My buddies during the book sale - Ate Paris and Shobe.
Security is tight.
Grab-all-you-can magazines for P200 or $4.
Finally the door is open to the magical world of booksssss!!!
Yes, that luggage bag is mine full of Harry Potter and GOT books. I got five trays of books in storage.
MY HAULSSS!
Wrong picture!
My first set of luggage that I brought to the hotel with me. Thanks to Shobe for helping me sort out. Thanks to Rex and Ron for lunch
Of course, there are other books left because I couldn't carry them all. And some of my friends ordered some books so I had to come back.
And despite the pounding migraine, I am back for Day 2.
My cart.
To think that I had to fight tooth and nail for those books while sorting because some customers are picking up my books even when I told them it is MINE.
and this is the longggggg line to the cashier. It took me a couple of hours to pay for my books. Good thing I was able to arrive at the hotel just on time or they will charge me P1000 or $.20 for the extra time. GOAL!
Yes! Filipinos still love books despite the electronic books available. Nothing can beat the soul and smell of books.
The sale is until February 25. Yes, we'll be back!
@sofiaphr agree to that Filipinos stull loved to read books I'm one of those :)
Books are lifeeee! Huhuhu! My wallet and credit cards are crying. Naghihingalo na. May naiwan pa ako sa sale. Babalikan ko pa.
By the way, I also have Tagalog pocketbooks. Brand new din. So you might be looking for titles. Baka meron ako. Binentahan? Hahaha!!!
But really I just love buying books for other people. Nakakatuwa kasi.
