Oriana Fallaci, periodista apasionada, escritora y corresponsal de guerra, fue una mujer cargada de inteligencia y conocimiento sobre la cultura de Europa, la cual conoce por su infancia en Italia desde 1929. Es en este libro donde recoje sus pensamientos más profundos sobre el choque ideologico entre dos religiones milenarias dispuestas a suicidarse en una contienda que desolaria el planeta(La religion del Islam y la religion Cristiana). Por muy chocante que parezcan sus puntos de vista, uno encuentra cierta renovación leyendo su voraz capacidad para desmontar políticas fallidas y desvelar la verdadera cara del islam mas radical. Lectura recomendada para aquellos interesados en periodismo internacional y el libro deja un claro mensaje de alerta ante un futuro incierto para las democracias occidentales. Espero que puedan dejar a un lado sus prejuicios y atreverse a una lectura que tiene la capacidad de expandir nuestra comprensión de la realidad, pues solo cuando comprendemos profundamente la raiz de un problema podremos estar en condiciones para plantear un futuro viable para todos.
Oriana Fallaci, a passionate journalist, writer and war correspondant, was a woman filled with knowledge and understanding of the European Culture, which she has know since her childhood in Italy since 1929. The Rage and the Pride was a cry for help in a world silenced by the events of the 11 of September of 2001. She decided to write a letter which soon became a series of articles for a newspaper and finally a book. It is in this book she collects her most profound thoughts and insights about the ideological clash between two millenary religions willing to suicide in a dispute that would desolate the planet( the religion of Islam and Christianity). Although this book my seem intimidating or shocking, readers find a kind of renovation in reading her ravenous capacity to dismantle failed pollitics and unveiling the truth of the most radical Islam. Recommended lecture for those interested in international journalism and this book leave a clear warning of an uncertain future for western democracies. I hope you can leave your prejudices aside and dare to read a book that has the capacity of expanding our understanding of reality, for only when we understand completely the root of the problem will we be able to plan for a viable future for everyone.
