Book Haul/Spotlight: Dark Crusade by Karl Edward Wagner
I have been adding many new books to my collection recently. My interest in reading has shifted to older books and authors. So I thought instead of just a simple book haul post I would do more of a spotlight/introduction post as well. So in the post below you will not only find the usual book haul photo’s, but book and author info as well. I hope you will take the time to look it over and maybe take a chance at checking out books and authors that you may have forgot about or discover in these post!

KANE
The Mystic Swordsman battles the prophet of an ancient cult of evil that began before the birth of Man.
Out of the blackness of an almost forgotten past, the cruel cult of Sataki has come to life again. A daring outlaw, Orted, is its prophet. He draws thousands of converts to his Dark Crusade – TO DESTROY MANKIND.
Orted’s bloody cohorts conquer Shapeki, but when they drive to vanquish the southern kingdoms they know they must have Kane. Kane is the one man who can command the conquest. But Kane’s battle will be against all the diabolic forces of Orted’s primeval sorcery…
Karl Edward Wagner (12 December 1945 – 14 October 1994) was an American writer, poet, editor and publisher of horror, science fiction, and heroic fantasy, who was born in Knoxville, Tennessee and originally trained as a psychiatrist. He wrote numerous dark fantasy and horror stories. As an editor, he created a three-volume set of Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian fiction restored to its original form as written, and edited the long-running and genre-defining The Year’s Best Horror Stories series for DAW Books. His Carcosa publishing company issued four volumes of the best stories by some of the major authors of the so-called Golden Age pulp magazines. He is possibly best known for his creation of a series of stories featuring the character Kane, the Mystic Swordsman.
