A recent analysis from Fundstrat Global Advisors suggests that by 2020, bitcoin would be worth $141,000. Based on its analysis, the company predicted that institutional investors would start flooding the bitcoin market.

According to the estimate, which was released on Thursday, by the end of 2020, the total value of all cryptocurrencies would reach $16.5 trillion. This would make it, after stocks, the second-largest global financial asset market at present prices.

Tom Lee, a cofounder of Fundstrat, said that as more people become aware of cryptocurrencies' potential for innovation and wealth creation, he believes they will eventually become more widely accepted. Furthermore, he thinks that institutional investors are starting to pay attention to these changes, which may cause prices to rise more quickly in 2019 and beyond.

Lee gave an explanation of why he believes institutional investors are interested in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology in an interview with CNBC's Squawk Box show. Because these markets are so distinct from regular markets, I believe institutional investors have shown a great deal of interest in them.
