During a rule of Umar (ra) one day a person asked him, why do not you keep any bodyguards with you? In response to the question of that person, Umar said, "It is not my duty to protect people, it is my responsibility to protect the people."
Another day, Umar Ibn al-Khattab was carrying heavy water from the water. He wondered, his son asked him, "Why are you doing this?"
"Umar said," We were arrogant and self-centered, so I decided to punish him.
"Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to be as harsh as he was in the defense of the Nydunda, and was also strict about himself.
