Blue moon

This total lunar eclipse is called rare because it coincides with the phenomenon of 'supermoon' and 'blue moon'.

So the US space agency (NASA) named the eclipse phenomenon that will occur tonight with the name 'Super Blue Blood Moon'.

Predicted, this rare eclipse will take place in a long time, ie for 5 hours 20.2 minutes, precisely from 17:49 pm to 23:09 pm.

The process of this eclipse will be clearly observed by the people of Aceh.

So what should a Muslim do when facing this rare phenomenon?

The lunar eclipse in Arabic is called "khusuf". In Islam when the phenomenon occurs lunar eclipse we are encouraged to do the salat sunah two rak'ah or also called salat sunah khusuf.

Scholars agree that this sunnah prayer sunnah muakkad law is good for men or women.

The occurrence of a lunar eclipse or the sun is a form of power from the creator of heaven and earth and its contents.

Just as there would be a total lunar eclipse on Wednesday 31 January 2018.

It is estimated that the total lunar eclipse begins at around 18:48 pm for a partial eclipse, and around 19:51 pm until 21:07 pm peak of the total lunar eclipse.

A total lunar eclipse occurs when the earth's position lies between the moon and the sun.

The moon is under the shadow of the earth because the sunlight is obstructed by the earth.

In the time of the Messenger of Allah

In the time of the Prophet ever eclipse. As narrated from 'A'isha r.a;

"That the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam rode the vehicle in the morning and there was an eclipse, then the Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam passed his wife's room (which is close to the mosque), then he stood up and performed the prayer". (Bukhari No. 1050).

In other narrations it is said that the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam came to his prayer place (ie his mosque) which he used to pray there.
In another hadeeth the Prophet said "If you see the eclipse (sun or moon), then hurry to perform the prayer".
The above mentioned hadith shows the command to perform the prayer during the eclipse, either the eclipse of the sun or the moon and the time of execution of the eclipse prayer is the moment of the eclipse.
The procedure for the implementation of the eclipse prayer as narrated from 'Aisha.
He said that the solar eclipse had occurred in the time of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam.
Then he sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam rose and mengimami man and he elongated standing.
Then he ruku 'and extend ruku'nya. Then stand up again and extend the stand, but shorter than the previous stand.
Then he ruku 'back and extend ruku' is but shorter than the previous ruku '.
Then he prostrated and prolonged the prostration. In the next raka'at, he did it like the first raka'at.
Then he moved (after doing the prayer), while the sun has appeared.
After that he preached before the people, he praised and praised God.
