PUTTING AWAY LYING

"THEREFORE, PUTTING AWAY LYING, “LET EACH ONE OF YOU SPEAK TRUTH WITH HIS NEIGHBOUR,” for we are members of one another."
Ephesians 4:25 (NKJV)

Comment: In the concluding part of chapter 4 of the book of Ephesians, Apostle Paul gave some practical things that should be found in the life of a believer in Christ Jesus.
A believer should put away lying: "LET EACH ONE OF YOU SPEAK TRUTH WITH HIS NEIGHBOUR, "FOR WE ARE MEMBERS OF ONE ANOTHER (Ephesians 4:25). You would need to see how some believers, even ministers, lie without any remorse. You would even see some justifying their lying with the Bible. Lying is one of the sins mentioned that can lead someone to destruction in the lake of fire, and debar from access to the holy city, the New Jerusalem:
8 BUT THE COWARDLY, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, AND ALL LIARS SHALL HAVE THEIR PART IN THE LAKE WHICH BURNS WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE, WHICH IS THE SECOND DEATH." 27 BUT THERE SHALL BY NO MEANS ENTER IT [holy city, New Jerusalem] ANYTHING THAT DEFILES, OR CAUSES AN ABOMINATION OR A LIE, BUT ONLY THOSE WHO ARE WRITTEN IN THE LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE" (Revelation 21:8,27 NKJV).
Some have the thought that it is only those who committed sins like murder, or other heinous sins, and some of the sins which they tagged as big sins that would end in destruction. But a liar would also end in the lake of fire, according to Revelation 21:8. Many believers lie without any remorse or check in their hearts; If you are one of such, repent today.

In that same chapter 4 of the Ephesians, Apostle Paul also talked about anger in verses 26 and 27. A believer could be angry but such should not allow anger to take good part of him or her.
In other words, a believer should not dwell on his or her anger. He or she should let go. The anger should not lead to sin:
26 BE ANGRY, AND DO NOT SIN": DO NOT LET SUN GO DOWN ON YOUR WRATH [anger], 27 NOR GIVE PLACE TO THE DEVIL" (Ephesians 4:26,27 NKJV). You can give place to the devil If you did not know how to manage your anger. Thus, let whoever is provoked manage his or her anger well that they might not Sin against God. If you are mistreated or offended, let go and turn the matter to God. The Bible says; vengeance is God's, and you should give place to His wrath: "BELOVED, NEVER AVENGE YOURSELVES, BUT LEAVE ROOM FOR THE WRATH OF GOD; FOR IT IS WRITTEN, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY, SAYS THE LORD” (Romans 12:19 NRSV). Instead, of your own wrath or anger, give place to God's wrath, He will avenge for you than you could ever imagine (Luke 28:7,8).
Peace.
