LET US NOT BECOME CONCEITED

"LET US NOT BECOME CONCEITED, provoking one another, envying one another."
Galatians 5:26 (NKJV)

Comment: A believer should not be conceited, pompous or swellheaded, having the notion that he or she is better than others. Neither superiority complex nor inferiority complex is of God. Thus, you should not think of yourself more highly than you ought to (Romans 12:3,9,10,16).
"AGREE WITH EACH OTHER. DON'T BE PROUD. Be willing to be a friend of people who aren’t considered important. DON'T THINK THAT YOU ARE BETTER THAN OTHERS."

After being conceited is dealt with, do not provoke one another—other believers. Do not be difficult to live with. If you cooperate with the Holy Spirit to grow the fruit of the spirit through whatever challenge you are facing or passing through, you would have approved character which would make it not difficult for people to live or associate with you (Romans 5:3,4; James 1:3,4). You would have godly attributes, peaceable attributes, that others would not find you difficult to live or relate with.

Some believers are like unbelievers, they have no godly virtues that should characterize or define a child of God, a believer—they are completely or exactly like unbelievers. And the reason why is, they failed to renew their minds and work on their flesh (Romans 12:1,2). Their lives could not be differentiated from that of the unbelievers—they virtually have no godly virtues that should be seen in the life of a believer (Ephesians 4:17-24).
Envy is also mentioned in the passage, and It is usually found in the lives of those who are carnal—those who crucified not the flesh: "FOR YOU ARE STILL CARNAL. FOR WHERE THERE ARE ENVY, STRIFE, AND DIVISIONS AMONG YOU, ARE YOU NOT CARNAL AND BEHAVING LIKE MERE MEN?" (1 Corinthians 3:3 NKJV).

These things are interconnected or interrelated, If you dealt not with laxity in one area of your life, It also will spill over to other areas of your life. This envy is even found among the ministers. You would see a minister castigating another minister because of envy. If believers would deal with the flesh and renew their minds (Romans 12:1,2), any number of issues troubling the body of Christ would be solved.
