GOD GAVE HER GRAIN AND MULTIPLIED HER SILVER AND GOLD
"FOR SHE [the nation of Israel or the Israelites] DID NOT KNOW THAT I GAVE HER GRAIN, new wine, and oil, AND MULTIPLIED HER SILVER AND GOLD—WHICH THEY PREPARED FOR BAAL."
Hosea 2:8 (NKJV)
Comment: Whoever is blessed should know and acknowledge the source of the blessing, God. If God is not acknowledged, and the blessing is not used to honour Him or worship Him, He would withdraw His blessings and the flow of it would stop. Thus, whoever is blessed should know the source of his or her blessings. You should be able to know and see the God's doing in your life, and seek to know how to judiciously use the blessings.
The Israelites took the blessings they were blessed with by God to serve other gods—baals (Hosea 2:8). God said He would take back those things He had blessed the Israelites with: “THEREFORE I WILL RETURN AND TAKE AWAY MY GRAIN IN ITS TIME AND MY NEW WINE IN ITS SEASON, AND WILL TAKE BACK MY WOOL AND MY LINEN, GIVEN TO COVER HER NAKEDNESS" (Hosea 2:9 NKJV).
If you did not use God's blessings on your life for His intended purpose, He would take them back—the flow of it would stop.
There is usually one or more reasons why God has blessed you with whatever He has blessed you with. And If the said blessing is not used for His intended purpose, He definitely will withdraw it.
If money is channelled through your hands, that is, you are financially blessed, It is done for a particular purpose. The blessing is not for hoarding, thus, you should not allow greed to take the better part of you. Release the money for God's intended purpose.
The pattern of God is; If a church or a ministry needed money for God's commanded purpose or project, He, God would channel the money through those who are identified with the church or ministry. He will bless the works of their hands, whatever they are doing, and expect them to give out of their incomes to the church or ministry; through tithings, offerings, vows, and pledges, which they have made towards the project at hand (Exodus 35:4,5,20-22).
If however they did not release the money that It might be used for God's intended purpose, the flow of the blessings would be halted, ceased or stopped, particularly from those who refused to release the ones in their hands.
God blesses with a purpose, and If the purpose for which the blessings channelled through you is not fulfilled or accomplished; He definitely will withdraw the money or blessing (Hosea 2:9).
If you give towards Idolatry or any cause that would not glorify God, He equally would withdraw His money or blessings from you. Thus, every financial giving or commitment you are making as a believer should be by the leading of God: "LET EVERYONE GIVE AS HIS HEART [the recreated human spirit being led by the Holy Spirit] TELLS HIM . . . " (2 Corinthians 9:7 PHILLIPS).
READ: Exodus 35:21).
Peace.
