DELIVERANCE AND HOLINESS 1
17 “BUT ON MOUNT ZION THERE SHALL BE DELIVERANCE, AND THERE SHALL BE HOLINESS; The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
18 THE HOUSE OF JACOB SHALL BE A FIRE, And the house of Joseph a flame; But the house of Esau shall be stubble; They shall kindle them and devour them, And no survivor shall remain of the house of Esau,” For the Lord has spoken."
Obadiah 17,18 (NKJV)
• Mount Zion is a type of the Church of Jesus Christ:
22 BUT YOU HAVE COME TO MOUNT ZION AND TO THE CITY OF THE LIVING GOD, THE HEAVENLY JERUSALEM, to an innumerable company of angels, 23 TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND CHURCH OF THE FIRSTBORN WHO ARE REGISTERED IN HEAVEN [the assembly of God’s firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven], TO GOD THE JUDGE OF ALL, TO THE SPIRITS OF JUST MEN MADE PERFECT" (Hebrews 12:22,23 NKJV).
- The passage of the Scripture in the text of this teaching says; " . . . ON MOUNT ZION THERE SHALL BE DELIVERANCE, AND THERE SHALL BE HOLINESS . . . " (Obadiah 17).
- Deliverance and holiness go together.
It is through genuine repentance from sins that you experience deliverance. If you are still living in sin, you have not acknowledged Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, your deliverance could be a mirage. - Someone who pretended to be saved, that he or she may receive deliverance, could further give an opportunity to the devil, to be entrenched in their life, in his operations. Genuine salvation is when you acknowledge that you are a sinner, repent of your sins, and confess Jesus as your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
- Total deliverance from sins; the works of the flesh and the oppressions of the devil, is experienced when you abide in Christ Jesus, walking in the light of His Word (James 1:22-25).
- If you received a deliverance by the anointing or grace on a minister of God, but gotten back into your former way of life, the way of Sin; the devil would again be given an access into your life (Ephesians 4:27).
• Deliverance from sins and every oppression of the devil is sustained or kept through holiness—living in line with the Word of God (1 Peter 1:15,16; 2:11,12)
- You can only see God and be intimate with Him through holiness. Also, the deliverance received from whatever oppression is made perfect and permanent through Holiness (Hebrews 12:14).
- Holiness would keep you under God's protection. When you committed a sin, or you are habitually living in the sin, you unknowingly or ignorantly removed the hedge made around you by God (Psalm 125:2). And when the hedge is broken or removed, the serpent, the devil, would have an opportunity to bite: "HE THAT DIGGETH A PIT FALLETH INTO IT; AND WHOSO BREAKETH DOWN A HEDGE, A SERPENT BITETH HIM" (Ecclesiastes 10:8 DARBY).
- You have the presence of God with you through holiness. And with God's presence in your life, you are secured from the attacks of the wicked one—the devil:
18 WE KNOW THAT WHOEVER IS BORN OF GOD DOES NOT SIN; BUT HE WHO HAS BEEN BORN OF GOD KEEPS HIMSELF [herself], AND THE WICKED ONE [the devil] DOES NOT TOUCH HIM [her]. 19 WE KNOW THAT WE ARE OF GOD, AND THE WHOLE WORLD LIES UNDER THE SWAY [power, control, influence, and governance] OF THE WICKED ONE [the devil]" (1 John 5:18 NKJV).
READ: 2 Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 2:2 - By living in holiness, you keep the devil at Bay, at a distance, in your life. When you keep yourself from Sin, the wicked one, the devil, does not touch you—have an access to your life.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- Should there be any ailment in your body, receive your healing now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
- The hold is totally broken and never to rise again in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Peace!

STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20).
b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. Ask that He will write your name in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).
- If you took the steps As highlighted above, It means you are saved—born-again. Join a Word based church in your area and Town or city, and be part of whatever they are doing there. Peace!
