YouTubers that I Miss 那些消失的YouTuber

I spent lots of my leisure time watching YouTube videos. There are so many talented people around the world sharing their life experiences, recipes, beauty tips, culture shocks, etc., anything that you can imagine.

It is like losing a friend when a YouTube you like stopped uploading new videos. There are some on my subscription list.

说来惭愧，我休息时间大多泡在YouTube上。各个美食美妆文化语言博主大显神通，很容易一个接一个地看很久。

当一个我喜欢的YouTuber停更的时候，我痛心程度不亚于失去一个朋友。我的订阅单上就有那么几个再也不更新的博主。

First of all, Christina Grimmie.

I still cannot believe that she passed away at such a young age. I knew her from one friend back in 2011. We enjoyed her powerful voice so much. Later she participated in the Voice. Although she didn't win, her music dream came true. It's hard to say now if it was a good thing because it led to her death indirectly. Anyway, I hope she is still singing in the heaven.

第一个就是Christina Grimmie. 不知道中文区知道她的人多不多。

Christina在YouTube上自弹自唱出名，声音非常有力量。2011年的时候一个朋友推荐我看她的翻唱。那时候我还只能趁着在国外出差的时候猛看。后来，大概2013还是2014年的时候，她参加了美国好声音。虽然没有夺冠，但是成功实现了音乐梦想，开始发片、被大众所知。

回过头来看，真可谓福兮祸之所倚。也许不出名也不会在演唱会被枪击。但是平庸过一生对她来说又太遗憾。不知道该怎么说，只希望她在天堂仍在歌唱。

Next, Michelle Phan.

Michelle is a role model for all the beauty YouTubers. Her story is also a typical American dream for the minorities. She is really talented in beauty. I still remember some tips she shared with us to save money but still look good, for example, curling the hair with paper bags.

She was lucky to launch a brand with L'Oreal. However, it was not successful due to the product quality as well as the pricing and positioning. I think she had gone through many things from the failure. She stopped her channel, spent time traveling and thinking about her experiences for more than one year. I was happy to know from her Instagram that she launched a new brand (although it seems not so successful as well...).

下一个知道的人肯定很多，著名美妆博主Michelle Phan.

Michelle绝对是美妆博主们的鼻祖、偶像、里程碑式人物。她的故事也是一个典型的少数族裔实现美国梦的故事。她当年经常分享很多便宜好用的小贴士，例如用纸袋卷头发、用橄榄油加洗碗精洗刷子。。。

这个励志故事的高潮是和欧莱雅一起创建品牌EM。然而因为产品质量、定价、定位等原因，EM并不成功，最终落得停产甩卖的下场。Michelle沉寂了很长一段时间，期间YouTube停更，头像换成全黑的。她花了一年多的时间旅行和思考，最后又重新创建了一个品牌（但是好像也不是很成功。。。）。

For other YouTubers who have stopped posting new videos, I hope everything goes well with them. I really appreciated how they taught me new things or just be my company virtually.
