How To Make Sparkly Glitter Shoes

In this post, we will be showing you how to make glitter shoes in this case glitter Jordans. The first step to creating glitter shoes is prepping. As with every custom shoe, the most important step is preparation.

Here are the items you will need to properly prep your shoes.

• Angelus Easy Cleaner
• Micro-fiber Cloth
• Angelus Shoe Cleaning Brush
• Angelus Deglazer and Preparer
• Cotton Rounds or Cotton Balls

Preparation Steps For Custom Glitter Shoes.

• Pour Angelus easy cleaner into a bowl and mix with water.
• Dip Angelus cleaning brush into the bowl and scrub the shoes.
• Wipe the shoes with your microfiber cloth.
• Once shoes are clean and dry it is time to remove the factory finish.
• Wet a cotton round or ball with Angelus Preparer and Deglazer.
• Rub the shoes so that the factory finish is taken off.
• Using more than one cotton round per section of the shoes will prevent spreading the finisher.

Now that you have prepared the shoes it is ready to paint and add glitter!
For these Jordan 10s, we will be using red glitter as the customer ordered.

Before we begin pouring glitter we need to gather our materials. Here is the list of what we will need

Glitter Jordan Materials

• Shoe trees.
• Tape.
• Angelus Red.
• Red Glitter.
• Glitter adhesive.
• Glitter Sealer
• Paint Brush.

Now that we have gathered all of the materials needed we can begin the glitter fun! First, we will need to place our shoe trees into the shoes so we can be sure that every crevice is opened up to paint.

Tape off the shoe in the places you do not plan to paint and glitter.

Paint thin layers of red on the shoe. 2-3 thin layers of red paint should be enough to cover the shoe and give your glitter a good matching background.

Be sure to let each coat completely dry before you paint the next layer. 30 minutes between layers should be enough time for each layer to dry.

The lighter the coat of paint, the faster it will dry.

Steps For Glitter Shoes

• Pour your glitter adhesive into a dish or paint pallet. Paint thin layers of glitter adhesive on the shoes a section at a time.

• Pour your glitter over each section as soon as you have finished painting on the adhesive.

• You will repeat step 3-4 until you have done each section of the shoe. Allow time to dry.

• Painting adhesive and pouring glitter on the shoes by section will give you the opportunity to get your glitter on before the adhesive dry.

• Dust off the excess glitter.

• Use a soft brush to gently knock it off or simply tap the shoes with your fingers to let the glitter fall off.

This will get rid off any glitter that did not dry with the adhesive.

• Repeat steps 3-5 until the shoes are completely covered in glitter.

• Use a paintbrush to apply glitter sealer to protect your glitter shoes from flaking.

• Protect your glitter shoes with a glitter sealer

Now that your shoes are completely dry you can now pull the tape off.
