Colombia vs. England - preview.

This evening Colombia will play England at the Spartak Stadium in Moscow in the last of the round of 16 fixtures at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Colombia has never been able to beat the Three Lions. Their most recent encounter ended in a 2-0 win for England at France 1998.

Jose Pekerman's, who is a great tactical coach, sealed Colombia’s passage to the knockout stages with a victory over Senegal in the final group match to finish top of their section, but hasn’t been able to fully tap into the attacking potential of their two biggest stars Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez. The latter was top scorer at Brazil 2014 but has been plagued by injuries and wasn’t able to play all matches in the group fase.

England won their first two matches and will primarily rely on the individual quality of players like Dele and Harry Kane. Their last match against Belgium did little to shed any light on the true strength of the side as Gareth Southgate opted to rest a number of first team regulars.

It will (hopefully) be a very interesting and fun match to see and I hope that Colombia will find their rhythm and win!
