What was that about beauty?

Seriously though, how natural is anyone in 2018? Well, I'm no beauty professional but I know for a fact that make-up sells people dreams! Not just selling dreams to the people applying it but to those that see the "beautiful" made face.

So ladies honestly speaking can you go a whole day without your eye liner? Without some base or lipstick? My focus is not on the make-up itself, as a matter of fact I use it too and truth be told I love how it makes me look.

My focus is on people who cannot live without it. If you can't face relatives, friends, or collegues without having to touch up then there's some thought to put into this situation.

I had days where I didn't wear make-up to work because I ran late, or simply wasn't in the mood and I would get remarks like " You look so tired today". Hmmmmm.... clearly I needed to show more of my natural side.

We are women and this is our playground! Anything beauty related we are in the whole way! But I do definitely feel we need to draw the line. Embrace your real appearance! Never let go of that!

There is something special about make-up that can reveal a lot of unique features on a women, I celebrate that, but lets not let that ability take away who we truly are. Don't wait for no make-up day to reveal how you really look and feel it will be acceptable to be critisized in any way.

As women we sometimes tend to create our own insecurities without realising it, expecting the world to love and accept us for who we are not realising it starts with ourselves.

Much that I don't really know what i'm talking about when it comes to makeup, I do agree with your post, and that it would be so refreshing to see a society where people didn't feel the need to have to put on make up every day... i find it so interesting, beautiful, amazing, when someone simply comes in to work one day and decides to go without the makeup, letting everyone just see them as they come... the pressure to look 'perfect' by wearing makeup, i can only imagine how great that is these days, and something about that doesn't feel right. Thanks for the post.

@smilingllama I also had to take a seat back and think about how it was starting to affect me. It's definitely something to talk about. Thank you for responding 😊

Completely love this.
We are all governed by fear and the fear is manufactured.
We are taught that we are not good enough.. We are taught to look outside of ourselves for answers and validation.
There shouldnt be a need for such things.

Yasss!! My thoughts are true beauty comes from within. I'm a minimalist with makeup more so because I don't know how to beat my face for the Gods. But the days that I do wear it ironically are to hide how I'm feeling or that I stayed up late the night before. It helps mask our insecurities and gives us a literal mask to feel beautiful from the outside. We garner so much more attention when we are wearing makeup, so I understand how it can be addictive. We all love compliments :)

Oh wow... another important point made . Make-up actually hides ALOT. And I have to admit there are days I've also used it to hide sadness or stress... thanks for your comment @tigiriseye.
