It Is Over For Robert Mugabe
Things are thick for Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe. The military does not want to admit it but it has effectively commenced a coup on comrade R.G. Mugabe’s regime. It is over. The military cannot roll out of the barracks and take over the national broadcaster to set the agenda for the country if the commander in chief is still in control.
Revered as one of the liberation heroes of the African continent, the eloquent political genius has been brought down by none other than his over ambitious and vicious wife Gucci Grace. The military says that they are only arresting those around Mugabe who are responsible for causing economic and social instability in Zimbabwe but that is just another way of saying the first lady and her cohorts.
The important life lesson to learn here is knowing when to stop. If you have done your best and there is nothing left in you to give, you should consider giving others a chance. The man was old and frail, barely able to walk but he stuck to it. He is at his weakest physically and politically. The law of the jungle had to apply. His adversaries saw an opportunity and pounced.
Those countries bent on regime change should understand that other countries have their own way of solving their problems. It was very painful for Rwanda but look at how they came out on the other end. There are not many places in the world where peace is respected like in Rwanda.
There was external intervention in Iraq and Libya but look at what these countries have become. I bet you knew who the presidents of these countries were but you can’t tell who is president right know. It is as if people of Iraq and Libya do not know what they want.
