Cant find a Good Science Job in London! My boss wants $150 from me=(

My Job Search in London has been quite tough! But I have just got another interview, I am very excited!

I have recently graduated from The Ohio State University in May 2017. I received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Genetics. From this you can see that I have an interest in Science!

After graduating I moved to China for the Summer and found an internship at a pharmaceutical company. This job was awesome and i was a wonderful learning experience for me. Although, at the completion of my stay I was offered a full time job, I had to continue my journey onto London, England; as my wife was enrolled in a Masters program at UCL.

Now that I am here it is quite expensive to live here and finding jobs in the science field is incredibly difficult, many companies want me to have lab experience in a UK lab. Regardless, I am more interested in the Health Sector, i.e. Hospitals. From here I have had much more luck as the NHS as a pretty centralized data base for job listings, which make applying a little less dreadful.

I have applied for hundred of positions so far and received around 5 interviews. I will admit that many of the jobs I applied for I knew I had no chance because it was way above my experience level, but I had already written a similar support letter so I at least tried. One job I was offered the job but it was soo low paying and the distance that I would have had to travel would have left me making almost nothing.

Now I am working at a delivery company, helping to dispatch orders. I have only worked there for two days and on the first day I was left by myself on the slowest day, there were like 5 orders which was easy. The second day I paired with another new employee on the busiest day of the week he would work 7-2am and I worked 10-5am.

It went horribly wrong!!!

The biggest problem was when the other guy sent an order $150 to the wrong address, but then his shift ended and I found this out and had to deal with the angry customer( whos order was now lost, taken by someone else). All the while dealing with other problems, this was crazy.

When I had to send our boss the end of night report, he was pretty mad at me. And even after trying to tell him what happened he still is trying to get me to pay for the loss because I did not do enough to get the order back.

Ugh this was my first night on a busy night, it was more than 3 hours after the delivery that I found out about this. And when I tried to call the person that the delivery was accidentally sent to nobody answered!

He keeps emailing me to tell me all of the F-ups I did, and I keep replying with defences of my actions. At first I tried to honerably take responsibilty while at the same time discreetly trying to let him understand that I was not the person who did it. But that just led to him trying to pin everything on me. I took responsibilty for what I did wrong but I really think he is going to try to "garnish" the $150 from me.

Ugh...

This is why I need to study hard for this new job interview! It is at a childrens hospital. I will be scanning documents, but any job were I can be close to medicine and science will make me so happy! I am really not sure how to prepare for this job but I guess I will just prepare like hell!

I am down to my last $100 in spending money and I doubt I will be getting any shifts from the delivery job anytime soon... Kindof freaking out, but writing about it helps a little I guess.

Especially knowing that practically no one will read this.lol Anyways thanks for the interest in reading. Hopefully I will get to update with some good new soon.

Also I have made a goal to post something at least once per day(so please check my other posts, Im still pretty new). I didnt prepare anything for today so I kindof just went with what was going on in my life.
