Information about dolphin
The short-beaked common dolphin is relatively slim and has a narrow snout. The forehead is rather suddenly about in the muzzle, allowing the kind of the typical "friendly" dolphinface. The flippers are bent backwards, and pointed. The dorsal fin is relatively large and upstraight. The colors range from a dark brown to black back and a white belly, where the border between the dark top and light bottom is sharp, especially in the front half of the body, before the dorsal fin
The short-beaked common dolphin is up to 2.3 (females) to 2.6 (males) metres long, the average adult length varies, depending on the population, from 1.7 to 2.4 meters. Most individuals roads less than 75 kilograms but there are males known almost 135 kilograms weighed. This Dolphin may be a speed of over 50 km per hour. Dolphins can reach an age up to 45 years. In Harderwijk at Dolfinarium the olkdest dolphin is 50 years old.
The animal mates under water or at the surface. After about 9 months, one young is born. Birth usually takes place from the middle of the winter to the summer. The calf at birth between 0.7 and 1 meter long and weighs about 10 kg. In Dolfianrium a young was born recently. He’s called James and he is very sweet and naughty. He Always wants to play.
