Carnivore 75 Hard Redux: Day 32
Nutrition & Healing
This was the least time fasted for any day this week, but it was still almost three hours more than the 16 hours I shoot for, so I'm not worried about it. Weekends are different because I'm home all day, so I tend to want to eat a little earlier. Sometimes, during the week, I probably would eat slightly earlier than I do, but I prefer to not worry about eating at work because reheating something in a microwave isn't my idea of a good time. I made the last burger patty from the package I showed in yesterday's post along with some eggs and bacon for my first meal.
My second meal was pretty late in the day and at a restaurant. My wife and I went out to dinner at a place called Hot House Tavern, which is a restaurant and bar situated in an old fire station. Because this was supposed to be the last day before I cut the cheese, I got a burger with four different kinds of cheese on it. Well, three were on it and one was on the side.
This burger was the On Wisconsin burger which is topped with cheddar, swiss, and farmer cheese. Then there was some nacho cheese on the side. Normally, I don't really eat nacho cheese, but I tried some of it and it was good. Spicy food used to be something I really liked, but now I don't really eat anything spicy.
This nacho cheese, although pretty mild overall, was probably the spiciest thing I've had in a while. Back in the day, I liked extremely-hot hot sauce. The kind that is basically like pepper spray in a bottle. It would sometimes make my stomach hurt even back then, but I think it would be really bad now if I were to attempt consuming that.
As is pretty common with burgers and sammiches at restaurants, I had a choice of a side. Most sides are not things that I eat anymore, but they did have cottage cheese, so I ordered that.
Mindset
Believe me, I understand how crazy it sounds to say that perhaps vegetables are not all they're cracked up to be or that, in fact, they may be detrimental to our health in some ways. Once you start talking about oxalates, you might as well put a tinfoil hat on and maybe get a cabin in the woods and just live out your life in solitude, off the grid and all of that.
However, if you're willing to entertain some pretty unconventional ideas for a moment, I think you should consider checking out this video. Personally, I found it very interesting. Sally Norton has been on some podcasts I've listened to in the past and I've always found her take on the issue to be intriguing.
Movement
17,000+ steps today! Because I don't want to change this Carnivore 75 Hard challenge too much in the middle, I'll continue with my goal of 10,000+ steps a day throughout the end of it. After that, though, I might set a different goal based on the Whoop strap that I've got to track my movements and workouts and shoot for a certain strain level every day. That way, if I get in some biking or weightlifting instead of a really long walk, I'll still have met my goal.
As always, if you'd like to read more about my activity on this day (which was actually yesterday), you can click on the image below and you'll be transported to my daily Actifit post on the Steem blockchain.
