Hot on the heels of my last rant about all the stupid press Tesla are getting recently the NTSB released a statement:

So there's some data to back up my otherwise rant previous post 😀
I'm definitely not impartial being that I own both a Tesla car and have a Powerwall on my home, I wouldn't say I'm a fan boy but even at a young age messing with gocarts and remote control toys I always felt that one day batteries could change things for the better and I'm such a firm believer in this change I'm happy to apply Gandhi's "Be the change you want to see in the world" and so have jumped in without hesitation.
The coal/oil/gas industries have had their day and they are slowly killing us with their toxic byproducts, it's time for us to move to renewable electricity generation and battery storage! We can do it with the technology we have today we just need to have the conviction.
Not a good week for Elon though !!
You mean his revealing that he's human and makes mistakes and takes things too personally like the rest of us? 👱 Whist I'm disappointed he took the bait I can't honestly say I would have handled the situation any differently. There's a reason I set my Twitter to private and no longer pay it any attention.

Never implied he was "trapped", but he was clearly goaded . Did you watch the interview with the diver? He very much unnecessarily belittled Elon's efforts to help save the kids. Everyone was trying to save trapped kids and there was no need for anyone to attack anyone else's efforts (this includes Elon). I'm sad Elon was so easily goaded into that snap reply, I wish he was smarter than that—but it turns out he's a fallible human after all.
Where I am coming from-
I like the phenomenon of electric cars..Tesla has been the underdog against the oil lobby...
However

Is he a super villian ? not any more than the other CEOs ..I expected better of him based on his own statements/standards.

Personally, I wish Elon would take a backward step from Tesla and concentrate on SpaceX. Although there's a massive bonus waiting for him if he meets targets of the Tesla 3 production so I imagine he'll use that to pump money into the BFR project.
Tesla is good, and real competition won't come until 2020.
But his genius could be better focussed elsewhere.
My fear is what happens if he died tomorrow?
Mars is important and can't be left to NASA and the SLS program. Tesla has a full charge and could still continue to innovate for a few years without him.
