Boxing Day is a holiday celebrated a day after Christmas Day. It originated in the United Kingdom, and is celebrated in those countries which were previously part of the British Empire.
It is also celebrated in St. Stephen's Day in Ireland. In some European countries, such as Romania, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Netherlands and Scandinavia, December 26 is celebrated as Second Christmas Day.

There are different arguments behind the name -
Many historians believe that the name of the holiday has been taken from church practice to open the Alms box on the day after Christmas and to distribute money to the poor. Historically, British employers led the church on December 26 by giving gifts or cash to employees and servants.
Others believe that the "box" refers to the gift box, that employers had given their servants for a holiday on Christmas day.
In other countries, Boxing Day celebrations are extensive, on this day some East British colonists celebrate holiday in Africa and Caribbean countries with award-winning events.
Ireland sometimes refers to Warren Day on December 26th, it is an indication for an old tradition in which the poor children will kill a rain (a small bird), then sell their wings to the neighbors for good luck. In today's celebrations, Warren is mere mere imagination.
