Harvest practice in churches may be unbiblical
Christians nowadays have many unbiblical practices. While some are oblivious to the fact that many of these practices are unChristian and unbiblical, some decide to follow such practices in sheer adamancy.
In Nigeria, Christianity is one of the most famous religion and many controversial issues have been raised regarding some practices among Christians including tithing, Christmas celebration and birthday celebration. Among the many controversial issues is the one raised in the bible in the book of Mathew concerning harvests.
In the book of Mathew Chapter 13 verse 36, Jesus mentiond some points to the apostles when they asked the meaning of the story of the farmer and Jesus mentioned some points. He said:
-The son of man is the farmer
-The end of the world is the period of harvest
-The angels are the harvesters
Since the Christian faith is claimed to be based on the Bible the, principle of Christ and those of the apostles, it wouldn't be proper for churches to continue celebrating harvast. In fact, in the bible neither Jesus nor the apostles ever practised it...
This practice and many others have testified to the syncretic nature of African Christianity and the fact that churches are clearly drifting into the world
Leviticus 23:10 says when you come into the land which i give you and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the first fruit of your harvest to the priest
Hold Testament is just a templates, besides those priests were Levites. And in was in order to feed them and the poor. We no longer have Levites there
nice content
Very unbiblical practice; I would like to have known more about this if you have more material to add.
Lol,read your bible very well before you post something nao, something its not all about posting just for the sake of getting money, but the message which you are trying to say, deuteronomy says then you shall celebrate the feast of weeks to the lord your God with a tribute of freewill offering of your hand, which you will give just as the lord bless you
I understand you but may I ask you a question? Is your faith Moses-based or Christ- based? If it's Christ -based, when did he practise such?
Lolz. So what's your view,? Are u indirectly saying "harvest offering " isn't a proper practice ? As the meaning itself refer to Christ?
Harvest refers to Christ? funny you. Why then did Christ say what harvest means is the end of the world?
Please read Mathew 13 all through, brother in the lord.
Very nice post. I totally agree with you on this. Truth is many practices we indulge in as Christians ain't really suppose to be . We bring some of the laws and make it binding unto us even when it is clear we are no longer under the law. Please do an expository post on this to make it clearer.
