Mrs. Gwynn's Roses (Part One)
One of the most beautiful gardens in Halleway Village was Mrs. Gwynn’s. That garden was presented in such delicate ways it almost caused jealousy to her neighbors. In fact, Mrs. Gwynn spent almost half of her life in that garden, taking care of each plant and tree.
“This garden is almost everything I have, so if I stop taking care of it, it will be the same as stopping to take care of my soul, my life.” She confessed to her daughter, Miss Sally. Sally also loved that garden, as she sometimes would help her mother when she arrived from college. Sally wanted to be an Historian, so she spent a lot of time in college. Medieval History was her favorite History era. But Sally never rejected to help her mother in the garden.
“I know mother, and guess what? This garden is clearly your soul, beautiful. Heart-warming. Lovely. Do you mind if I stay here to study a while?” Asked Sally in a warm tone. Sally just loved to absorb the essence of that garden to study. She always studied better around the garden. A few weeks later, they came across something they never saw in their garden. One of the most beautiful roses they had seen in their lives. It was Sally who, in search of inspiration to study while walking in the outside, saw those roses and immediately called Mrs. Gwynn. Mrs. Gywnn was also shocked for she had never seen those. Well, their house was kind of a mansion with an acre of forests, gardens, lakes… so they rarely knew exacted everything they had there.
“Mom! Come here, there’s a thing here that you will absolutely love to see!” Shouted Sally so loud she woke up a few birds nearby. She then felt bad blushed of how much ashamed she got. Mrs. Gwynn got there 25 minutes later. Even though Mrs. Gwynn was still young - she was 51 years old - she wasn’t a professional athlete.
“What is it sweetheart, what did you see?” Asked Mrs. Gwynn in a heavy breath.
“Mom, look! These roses! Aren’t they beautiful?” Replied Sally in a soft tone.
Mrs. Gwynn looked at them shocked. They were indeed beautiful, so red it almost enchanted both women to them. Mrs. Gwynn immediately took one rose with her to put it in the living room.
