Big discovery at the organic market today ( Costa Rica ),

The Salak is a variety of palm that grows mainly in Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei, the fruit of the salak tree grows in clusters near the base of the palm and is also known as snake fruit, its rough outer texture Can be detached by pinching one end and inside there are three lobes, two or three of them contain large seeds

The taste is slightly sour and the texture is similar to that of apples. There are three main salak cultivars on the market, and salak can also be made in alcoholic beverages of a quality similar to that of grape wine

I remember having Snake fruit here on Hawai'i Island and it was clear on the inside resembling litchi, longan, rambutan or pulasan.

The Snake fruit or Salak is white inside not transparent.. here we have the mangostin or mamones with clear inside. It will be interesting if you find another one to compare.
