Born on April 29, 1968 in a village in Croatia, she spent her childhood in the United States of America. She joined the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Zagreb University. She graduated in 1992 and received her Bachelor's degree in English and Spanish. From 1995 to 1996 she attended a diploma course From the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. In 2000 she received a Master's degree in International Relations from the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Zagreb. In 2002-2003, she received a Fulbright scholarship to study at George Washington University and a Kennedy School of Government fellowship in C Harvard University, and a visiting professor at the School of Advanced International Studies at Hopkins University. She served as NATO Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy from 2011 until last year and was the first woman to hold this post. She has been a Foreign Secretary since 2005 and served as Ambassador to Washington from 2008 to 2011. [1] From 2011 to 2014, the Secretary-General's policy stabilization in NATO. She is the first woman to be appointed to the position of Secretary-General. Formerly Croatian Foreign Minister from 2005 to 2008 and Ambassador of Croatia to the United States from 2008 to 2011. She is a member of the Croatian Democratic Union and a member of the Tripartite Commission.
