Hello, just came up with some extra arguments for this topic.
What if everything we read is wrong?
If all self help books were written by human beings that are considered to be experts on how to solve an emotional problem then it would follow that if any human followed their expert advice to the letter then their problem would be solved. This is obviously false because we can observe how the self help industry keeps thriving and people keep struggliung with their problems.
Why is everything wrong?
Let's consider the author of a random self help facebook blog that monetized the content and needs to drive traffic to the page because if the quota is not met then perhaps bills can't be paid. Is it possible that this author might specifically target readers with click bait titles and flulf content that only echo chambers a certain point of view. For example, "Its okay to be a piece of shit, and fuck everyone else from giving their opinion". Obviously this shit is wrong.
Can anything be done?
