I started a wordpress blog and it is a million times better than this POS

in #blog5 years ago

Sorry y'all, Steem has been a mildly fun ride, but I am moving on to a different platform.

https://miggyfr.design.blog/

I will ocassionally log in here to shit comment on @thecastle 's shit posts but other than that you can expect no traffic from me.

Hey don't blame me! Its not my fault this platform has not improved on its usuabilty, discovery, and community issues for several fucking years.

So long and thanks for all the fish.

Are you using the beta page? Its considerably better.
https://beta.steemit.com

Also I mean word press is probably pretty decent, just wait until you get banned for saying something that offends someone.

Yeah man, I'm not going in with an intention to say things that offend people but I don't worry about those things. So I just want to post my art, some blog articles, and maybe have friends comment once in a while. Wordpress lets my friends comment on posts without any hassle. Steemit is not user friendly enough to be attractive to convince the basic user to open an account just to comment. Don't get me started on Patreon. Wordpress is the way.

Can't really blame anyone for leaving the platform.

The entire system was built to benefit those with the most investment, while creating barriers for noobs to really have a chance to break through. So much focus had been on getting bots for votes, and creating an atmosphere where people have little motivation to read others posting, but rather to upvote things that have already been upvoted for potential curation.

Then, how Steem has spread through to various tied in platforms (Dtube for ex), the delivery has shown clearly that the owners are more interested in quantity over quality.

The only reason to even bother posting is just to have a 'blog' that can be referenced to be posted on other sites.

Even the stats show this; payouts dropping, activity dropping, voting dropping, users like yourself turning elsewhere.

It makes sens when 99.04% of the accounts are minnows or 1 level above minnows, and 0.0000x% are whales who benefit to where they can upvote their own posts and be profitable that the disparity would become unsustainable.

From an owners perspective, there's nothing to fix because they profit massively on what was built.

Good luck.

Yeah man! I agree with everything you just said. I've been on this platform for about 3 years with nothing to show for.

If you'll ever seriously think about returning, I'd suggest using Steempeak.com rather than Steemit. Steempeak has been lightyears ahead of Steemit with usability, discovery and.. eh, well it can't affect the community, but it's made discovery so much better and has features I wouldn't want to be without. Including but not limited to working notifications and possibility of having multiple drafts.

The small joys.

Also it's fun to find new when you have the community curated content on start page, not "trending".

But still, to the important topic:
Hope you'll enjoy the new platform and hope you'll do good :)

Hey my bread making friend. I actually used steepeak a lot. It is great.

I rarely get any comments on here
Its hard to find cool content here
Too many bots here

Since rarely anyone reads my posts here I figure nobody would miss me and I could just setup my own wordpress. I can use the phone to micro blog and could potential setup a shopping cart to ask for money. haha

Good luck man. Take care.
