My tiny garden and Captian Mato'

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemians! I really hope everyone had a nice time with their loved ones during the holidays and all of you are ready for a new year full of opportunities. Good luck on this chance, new ticket,   extra ride!

As I came to know  new people here and read some of their post, I learned most of the hobbies and different things  you enjoy.  It's nice to know how much in commun steemians have.

One of mine is gardening, there's something about growing tomatoes that just... Well, it's pretty nice and relaxing. Even though I don't like to eat tomatoes.

I also have a pineapple plant, some peanuts, Aloe Vera, lemons, papayas and so.  But maybe for another post? Along with the rest on my grandma's garden.

[My tiny tomato harvest, and Captain Mato']

I've been using a new image editor, and the filters are pretty cool.

This is the tomato flower, the whole place near it smells like tomato. <3

My Pineapple, it's pretty young so no fruits for this year.

This one  isn't mine. It's from a friends garden.

This is a cocoa tree from Choroni, my uncle gave it to me last year and said it wont take to long for the first harvest.

There's also a soursop  or guanábana  tree, but it's pretty young and doesn't have  enough sunlight  :(

Anyway! Thank you for reading. If you have any questions or comment, you're welcome to do so.

Also, if you have any post related to this one, feel free to leave the link below. i'd love to read it!

Sort:

Qué buen post, jajaja. Me mataste con el Captain Mato.

Otra cosa.

Cute garden, is it connected with a patio by any chance? Your post reminds me of Isabel Allende books for some reason. You know, in Poland all those plants that you have are totally exotic, except tomato hah :) I actually never saw a growing pineapple (it's called ananas in Polish ;D ), it was an unexpected sight! Thank you for showing how does your life in Venezuela look! I'd love to visit South America one day, I'm fascinated with it, but the journey there will be possible for me only in some distant future. And it's great to see an everyday Venezuealan life through your photos! It would be all more accessible for me if I knew Spanish well, I guess :) Maybe I'll make it my 2018 resolution, to start learning Spanish :) All the best, Klaudia

Wow
@Shinyforest , thank you for your kind words! Well, yes... But it's mostly dirt since I don't take of it much. I have lemon, papaya, tomatoes and Malojillo (For tea, really tasty when served cold with sugar and lemon. And great for the flu). They're all in a small place, like 2x10mts and doesn't get much sunlight.
You're welcome to come visit us and learn more of our culture, we're a great mix between natives, Africans and Europeans. Making most of our traditions are somehow "familiar" to most people and our gastronomy is rich with and varied.
Good luck with spanish, watch this video

before you start hahaha

I hope one day I can visit Poland and experience everything there! You have one more fan, Klaudia. All your drawings and post are really good.
Thanks for the tip, I've heard about them but didn't know where to start, so thanks for the links!

And thank you for "Ananas" it's a fun way to call pineapples! In Spanish they're called "Piña" and really funny to pronounce if Spanish is not your native language .

Oooo I wish I lived somewhere warm enough to garden all year long! Its great to see a little bit of your life there. I have never seen some of these plants before.
