My fear of the Taxi

In Nigeria there are two quickest means of commercial transportation and they are cabs and motorcycles.

Motorcycles are a good way to get around the city because they are quick as they don't get stuck in traffic. Cabs are safer but can be sometimes slower so I just prefer to take motorcycles as a means of transportation .

Another reason I prefer motorcycles is because of the "rumors" of people that have been kidnapped by cab drivers. I have this fear of being kidnapped so I totally avoid cabs.

Something funny happened to me and a friend one day. We were going home and it was about to rain so we couldn't take a motorcycle. We got an empty cab and entered .Normally other people can stop a cab that people are already in until it's completely filled up, but this day no one wanted to stop ours.

Anyone that stopped the cab to enter, on seeing my friend and I inside they change their mind and looked for another. We began to wonder if we had something on our faces or there was something else scaring people away. Then the cab driver told us that they were all scared of entering cuz of the fear that we could be kidnappers.

It was such a funny experience, the very same reason I was scared of cabs, now I felt what it is like to be on the receiving end.
