WINTER TRIP TO JASPER - PART 1

Two years ago, my mom, husband ( @sevenstars ) and I took a day road trip to Jasper Alberta around November. We wanted to see how Jasper looks like in winter. We live in the province of BC and we are lucky enough that it only takes just four-hour drive to the world famous Jasper National Park which is the largest of Canada’s Rocky Mountain parks. We packed a lunch, and departed early in the morning.

🚗Driving to Jasper 🚗

Selfie of us while driving 😉

It wasn't snowing the first couple of hours and it was very cloudy but still the drive was amazing. See pictures below:👇

❄ Two hours later, the road became icy but it wasn't that bad. There was fresh snow on the ground, trees, everywhere. ❄

Mount Robson

As we were driving through, we could already see Mount Robson from afar. It is always one of the highlights of our trips if we are driving to Jasper. The peak of Mount Robson is tricky to view with it being the highest in all British Columbia. They say it is only visible 14 days each year. We already expected that we won't see the peak as it was too cloudy and snowy that day but still pretty.

We pulled over for pee break and of course to take pictures 📷

Amazing views and a must stop if your going or coming from Jasper.

Moose Lake

Another must see resting spot is Moose Lake. It is located just 14.5 miles from Mount Robson. It is very pretty here during summer. You can stop and have your lunch here while enjoying the view. We didn't pulled over but I just took a video of it while in the car.

Check it out:

The lake is stocked with Rainbow trout which makes for great fishing during summer or even winter.

As we drove on towards Jasper we passed by this beautiful lake that caught our attention just along the road as we getting closer to the border of Alberta.

20151110_105249_003.jpg As soon as we saw this lake, our jaws dropped and we knew we had to pull over right away. I'm glad we did because, it was so pretty. I loved how the water was so clear that we could see the reflection of the snow-capped mountain, trees, train and the sky. It was definitely worth the stop!

At the border.

It was around 12 noon when we arrived at the border which is a perfect time to take a stroll around. We bought a day park pass and off we went to winterland.
