Test the design rules for printer

The 3D Printer I used at SZOIL is the one developed and made by Maker Collider team (a maker platform invested by Intel). Here is the brief introduction to the machine blow:

Zego 3D Printer is an improved one based on Delta parallel connection arms type printer. Its basic info are as follows:

  • Type: parallel connection arms Delta Bot
  • Nozzle diameter: 0.4
  • Material diameter: 1.75
  • Print size: diameter 160mm height: 180mm
  • Maximum print speed: 100mm/s
  • Minimum height of Z axis: 0.1mm
  • Extrusion type: Remote extrusion
  • Nozzle type: E3D metal nozzle, maximum tolerant temperature 270 centigrade
  • Hot bed: silica gel hot bed, maximum temperature 90 centigrade
  • Print material: PLA ABS
  • Firmware version: marlin-makerlab for delta
  • Processor type: Intel Edison + Arduino Mega
  • Print method: USB storage print, Web print
  • Leveling type: single-point offset test+ One-time manual leveling

We used CURA to do the slicing of 3D model. We can use it to input .stl file and transform it into .gcode file format.

In our lab, we use gcode format for 3D printers. So I converted from .stl to .gcode in cura.

First, I tried this one which DIYed by the lab:

It took one hour to finish:
