My 27 Hours
Tomorrow I start my 27 hour drive to Virginia. I am leaving at 7:00am - so I should be there by Thursday or Friday. I am anxious; as I have mentioned but now some of that initial anxiety is turning into excitement. Of course some still remains. But I am starting to look forward to the good things that come with going to Virginia. Those being: seeing my mother for the first time in 2 years, seeing my brothers for the first time in 2 - 3 years, seeing old friends for the first time in nearly 10 years; a lot of first time seeing people in so and so years... So as you can imagine it's a nice feeling to finally get to connect again after not getting to for so long.
You may be wondering why I haven't seen my family in so long? The reason for that is when I was younger I had a lot of problems with most of my family, so when I got old enough to leave - I did and I did so without looking back. While doing that I unintentionally cut out some of the family members I did get along with out of anger. But now that years have gone by I am letting bygones be bygones and I am trying to be better than I once was. That way I can reconnect with family that I love, cherish, and miss. Even those that may have done some wrong. Because the way I see it: if I had been in their shoes for whatever situation - I would want forgiveness too. So I forgive. I may not forget because honestly that is harder said than done but with each new pleasant memory we make together I start to stitch over the bad ones.
But with that being said; I know that I am not a perfect person. So I may slip up and I may do or say something that I may not mean out of anger for past situations, and that's okay. Unless I become a serial killer; obviously. It's okay because even if it does happen it helps me learn from it and prepare to prevent it from happening again. That's what being human is. It's messing up and correcting yourself, it's getting hurt and getting fixed again, it's going through whatever life has to toss you to be who you are meant to be. So I am ready for my trip. It's just another chapter in my story to make me - me, and I can't wait to share it with you all and to see who I become.
Now I need to go pack - so this is going to be a shorter Blog. But I hope you guys are ready for all my Blogs to come during my trip. I know each one is going to be crazy, funny, and as always... me.
Keep growing and glowing.
