Chinese New Year (Year of Snake) is in 2 days: we took this chance (weekend) to celebrate in advance. We played Rummikub:

Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig

Rummikub is a classic tile-based game that combines elements of strategy, luck, and skill. Designed for two to four players, it is widely enjoyed by families and friends for its simple yet engaging gameplay. The objective of the game is to be the first to use all your tiles by forming them into sets and runs. Sets are groups of three or four tiles of the same number in different colours, while runs are sequences of three or more consecutive numbers in the same colour. Each player starts with 14 tiles, drawn from a pool of 106 tiles, which are marked with numbers from 1 to 13 in four colours, along with two jokers that act as wild tiles.

The game begins with players trying to create an initial meld, requiring at least 30 points using tiles from their hand. Once this is achieved, players can build upon their own sets and runs or manipulate those already on the table to incorporate their remaining tiles. This aspect of rearranging tiles offers a delightful layer of complexity, as players must think strategically and plan multiple moves ahead while adapting to the ever-changing board. The inclusion of jokers adds an extra element of unpredictability and excitement, as they can substitute for any tile, but must be strategically reclaimed or used.
