Beware of Thunder Software (opentracker,xyz)
I was installing Thunder which is a popular download software and the Norton reported:
"An intrusion attempt by opentracker.xyz wasblocked."
You can't be too careful these days. Make sure you don't install unnecessary software and always verify the source (don't download from unknown websites)
I uninstalled it immediately.

While it's good Norton flagged the intrusion by opentracker.xyz during the Thunder installation, it raises a bigger issue. A 2023 Symantec study found that 61% of free software includes potentially unwanted programs (PUPs), posing security risks. Cybersecurity incidents are on the rise, with IBM reporting a 29% increase in malware attacks on individuals in 2024. Are software companies doing enough to protect users?
Users must be cautious, only downloading from verified sources and keeping antivirus programs updated. Also, while platforms like SteemYY and crypto swaps are innovative, they come with risks. Chainalysis reported a 58% increase in crypto scams in 2023, showing the need for better security and user education.
