====== Virignia Moves Forward with Weed ====

Virginia Stands Together

In a sweeping pass of support, the Commonwealth of Virginia passed a beloved bill declaring a strong statehood. At first the Virginia House of Delegates unaminously passed House Bill 1251 98 to 0!!! After that, the Virginia Senate voted unanimously Monday to pass the Joint Commission on Health Care bill SB 726, which will let Virginia doctors recommend the use of cannabidiol oil or THC-A oil for the treatment of any diagnosed condition or disease. This isn't an entirely successful feat for Virignia because it has many limits.

  1. It requires a medical license
  2. It is limited to the usage, specifically oils
  3. It is limited to THCA (CBD)

What is THCA?

I am going to turn to the expertise of Alexandra Preston for the majority of the benefits of THCA. The important thing to note is THCA does not get you high. THCA is a pharmaceuticaly used and has medical benefits not mental effects. Without further adeui, here is a brief rundown of the usage:

Anti-nausea effects

THCA may also aid the anti-inflammatory effects of other cannabinoids.

Anti-nausea effects

THCA is as an anti-nausea and vomiting treatment.

Anti-Seizures

THCA works well in aiding patients that suffer from seizures.

Sleeping Beauty

THCA works well with insomnia patients.

====== DC Police Cracks Down on Cannabis "Giving" ====

DCWeedEvents Instagram is a source of finding most Cannabis "giving" events

The Decline of an Underground Activity

I have noticed vendors and hosts dropping support or canceling cannabis events left and right because of the increased police presence in the private events. This doesn't come as a surprise with larger events such as Canamania and Meltdown which attracted hundreds of guests with their constant free dabs all night, but it also affects smaller events geared around educating the public about the positives of cannabis.

The main issue with these raids is that they barely end in any substantive change as initiative 71 permits these events to occur with two minor exceptions:

  1. Noise Complaint
Yes, many of these events tend to get loud especially with larger crowds of 100+, but these types of events occurred in bars and restaurants which were loud during those times anyway,
  2. Quantity held by vendors
I-71 limits how much you can hold, but the penalty is a fine.

In the end of the day, the police raid these places less to deter people from enjoying their rights or even to curtail something they disagree in but more as a show of force that they understand an underground culture is booming and providing great business for certain individuals. It goes unsurprised that something like that would anger your average low paid cop who needs the ability to posture leadership in the community in order to gain a promotion.

====== Postal Workers Plea Guilty to Stealing Cannabis ====

The three postal workers shown above have each been found guilty of conspiracy and drug conspiracy after Derek Miller admitted to stealing drugs from mail packages and Laura Mae Campbell's plea came following. Their sentences will last eight to fourteen months in prison after authorities found more than sixty pounds of marijuana inside Miller's house. Their sentences are expected to begin during Spring in an Oklahoma prison. Had these individuals reported the drugs to authorities they would see others in prison rather than themselves.
