I agree with you about other social media sites. I'm a writer and I've tried or still am on a lot of them. I've got a big Twitter following but haven't really been active on there, I miss a few friends and keep in touch - even work colleagues and former students, but my heart is here.

This place is kind of like your Valley. You find a few safe and comfortable places and camp out there. It can be brutal sometimes if you run up against some rough types on here, but you need a few stable people to support you and you're fine.
