*happy one month!*
Well, it’s officially been a month our lives have been blessed with our daughter. She is nothing short of amazing and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for her / our family. She is the favorite part of my life. <3
On the other hand my fiancé and I are celebrating! Today he gained joint custody of his SON! It’s been a long road but my fiancé and the mother of their oldest could agree to put their child FIRST! We [all 4 parents] have been working as a team for almost 2 years now. For those of you who have experienced divorce or have separated after having children know how difficult it can be to put your differences aside to co-parent.
Now we still have so much to go after this long road. We still have one baby who is missing from our family- my fiancé’s first daughter. After 3 years of custody court, we are coming to a screaming hault. Visits have been limited, almost intentially by the mother (go figure). We are looking into lawyers, but have no retainer money saved, so it’s kind of a tease to be looking. We are hoping to find a low or no cost lawyer to work with us. The mother took advantage of the income qualified lawyer service in our area, so we can’t use them. They don’t help fathers anyway... again, go figure. I’m praying to whatever higher power is out there that we see change soon. My step daughter needs her daddy, but the mother is trying to erase him from her life without a care towards the damage she may be causing to their daughter later down the road. It’s seems to me that the more a father tries to be in his kids life, the less he actually gets...
