AN INSIGHT TO EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

It's a lovely and cold boxing day on this tuesday and I'm sure we are still grooving the season like never before...so steemians I'm still waiting for my gifts...anyway today is a great day so let's make the most of it.

Today we will be looking at a very sensitive issue: EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

There is no limit/boundary what effect; both positive and negative communication has on our world. Let me start by the creation of the world but before that let's define communication.

"I will define communication as an act of information/data exchange between two or more parties in which there is a sender, a message, a receiver and a feedback"

Using this definition, I would go back to my discussion about the creation of the world. Now scripture tells us:

Genesis 1:11 And God(SENDER) said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth(MESSAGE): and it was so. 1:12 And the earth(RECEIVER) brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind(FEEDBACK) and God saw that it was good.

Communication has always been mans' basis of existence. It is the communication between the heart, the blood, and the cells that makes man alive; a breach in this relationship will lead to a disastrous effect on the human body.

Even a steemians, we are much aware that for you to get the viewers attention to your post you need to pass your message in a manner that will attract them. This is one attribute the likes of @papa-pepper, @ogochukwu, @stackin have learnt.

Quickly, lets look at the pros and cons of communication:
PROS:

• Attracts larger audience.

• Establish links with different spheres of the society.

• Fosters unity.

• Keeps you updated as good communication always ends with feedbacks/response.

CONS:
Just the opposite of the above.

HOW TO BUILD EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION :

Let me still butress the power of communication with the scriptures again;
Genesis 11:5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. 11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

Even God recognises the power of effective communication. Now building effective communication include:

• Having a mastery of what you intend to pass across:

Using this platform as an example; it will be veey wrong for me to talk about blockchain technology because I have little or no idea about that.

• Knowing the best medium to pass your message accross:

Some message just need a group of photos to get them accross. Others may be better off a poem thana write up/essay. Know the best medium and use it.

• Know your Audience:

What's the use of talking about spaceships and rockets in a hall filled with doctors and nurses?? I believe you get my point

• In all these, there must be feedback:

If after following all these steps there is no response to what you communicated then there is a grey area somewhere you need to fix. This feed back part is almost as important as the message coz it tells you if your mission is accomplished or not.
