Are you experiencing Blue Monday?

Today is Blue Monday. You may respond, "Every Monday is Blue Monday". But seriously, today REALLY is Blue Monday. Do you feel it?

We just finished celebrating the holidays. We're back to the grind. The weather is gloomy. Days are shorter. We're in debt from our Christmas shopping and splurging. We were going to be down 5 lbs by now. We were going to go to the gym after work. We don't have any mojo.

So, this culmination of gloom and frustration now has us bummed out today, the most depressing day of the year. The concept was first publicized as part of a 2005 press release from a company, Sky Travel. This company claimed to have calculated the date using an equation using this formula:

Although this formula and theory was developed by a very creative company for its travel biz, when you think about it, Blue Monday could be a thing.

If you're feeling blue; bummed for whatever reason, take some steps forward to get out of your funk. The easiest way is to spend some time around people that make you feel good and people you want to emulate. Listen to some of your favorite music or watch your favorite laugh out loud movie. Take a walk. Eat a healthy meal. Don't fall for the formula. Today doesn't have to be Blue Monday. If you're still feeling low, have no fear, the Happiest Day Of The Year will be here before you know it. It is said to fall between June 21st and June 24th ;)
