The art of the Star Wars (SWtoR) - locations concept art

in #blog7 years ago

And today's SWtoR post is about my greatest weakness: location concepts.

When I started drawing I focused on items, not on backgrounds. It played an evil trick with me: now I draw items or charcters quickly, but have to spend hours working with the background, in the case if I decide to create it. Of course, concept artists devide a bit, on thouse who paint character concepts and on thouse, who paint locations, but it's always wonderful to own the whole "set".

These are not concepts in traditional meaning, in the SWtoR artbook we find mainly finished artworks or promo art. How awesome is this? As a character concept artist I think that painting the whole location takes much more effort. Don't know am I right or not, but it seems to me exactly like this:)

Jedi temple, and a jedi character on the foreground. The game of light is breathtaking. Personaly I love the games so much exactly because of graphic. Sometimes I'm ready to endure bad plot, or no plot at all just because of graphic. SWtoR is not the case of course:)

Vehicles are a bit less traced then everything else, but I find special charm in it. It's all about the impression after all.

Well recognizable scene if you've seen the movie (who didn't?:). All thouse sexy dancing twileks - the game has them too, nearly in every cantina.

Korriban, the heart of the Sith academy and one of my favorite locations. I could talk about it for long, but I think I'll just leave it here. It's a pity that I didn't find any interior of the Sith academy in the artbook. It looks so much cooler then the jedi temple;)

Thank you for watching:)

Love, Inber
