Found an odd stone

in #blog5 years ago (edited)

Nature can be fun and interesting. I like looking for fossils and rocks. Recently found this strange stone, I have sent photos to a Paleontology site that deals with identifying fossils. But they had little information on it. Personally at first I thought it could be shark coprolite ie shark fossilized feces. I then tried a rock identifying group but no luck there.

This stone was found in a gravel load from the Brazos river just west of Houston Texas.

If you use your imagination it kind of reminds you of a carved scarab?....but being found where it was that is highly unlikely. I am keeping it, it is my mystery stone!

*Feel free to leave your ideas of what this is in the comments below would love to hear your ideas!

honestly, at first glimpse, I thougt it would be something to eat :-D Some kind of choclate-stuffed-pastries. Then, of course, I realized it was a stone and looked at your whole entry ;)

lol...would be one really stale pastry...but i can see at first glance you would see that.
