RE: BB#1: The Gratifying Curse of Steemit! (don’t ignore it) 👻

in #blog8 years ago

This post resonates so much! A person will only stop wasting time on instant gratification websites if they are actually able to see or experience a glimpse of the benefits of something which comes with long term practice.
I experienced this with exercise. I have been in and out of the gym so many times. Never regular.
Then once I tried 14 days #500repschallenge and it kind of stuck with me simply because I physically saw the benefits, and in those 14 days, it became a habit.
I would call this slightly delayed gratification 😁

The times have changed, and the methods to deal with these new kind of obsessions of instant gratification also need to change. I hope more people understand the depth of your blog.

Brilliant post! Followed you.

Yo must have 6 packs by now 😀

You are absolutely right about experiencing the benefits from a long term habit. But even to start something new, forget about developing a habit, a trigger (like repschallenge) is required and one has to be ready to act on it. Way too much left for luck/coincidence.

Thank you for reading Hardik 🙏 Followed you back 🍻

ha ha.. yes. I did have 6 packs for a while. It's really difficult to maintain, especially with the kind of unpredictable lifestyle of a musician. But I always maintain a flat stomach now 😁

And you are right, it definitely has to come from within. The trigger will only help, but if one is not willing to act on it, nothing can help.
