During a Jump, it is common practise for the aircraft to fly at 'Low-Level' (below 250ft!). We call it Hedge Hopping. For a Hercules C-130, thats REALLY low. The G-Forces inside the aircraft is like being on a rollercoaster for hours. Some guys succumb to this and ...... Out come the sick-bags (It's not a pretty sight or atmosphere). Just one of those un-spoken events that no one really hears about....
95 lbs was my average rucksack/bergan weight...Plus a Parachute and Reserve ( >50lb). It's pretty tough, but that's just one reason why paratroopers undergoe a selection process.
