RE: When the dust settles...

Hey @joeohs, thanks for considering Vimm. About the adds it's true that we might implement them one day. we will, however, make sure that if we do they don't interfere with the user experience and as such we will never have aggressive ads on the platform.

We also don't exclude anything yet, so stuff like: sharing revenue with the streamer, making them only accessible for partner streamers. The day that they are implemented we'll gladly take the time to optimize them together with the community/communities

About the viewers. We don't show a fake number as DLive did. That's true, there is no sudden jump from 0 viewers to 20. Those where either just an added fake viewers or additional connections to websockets (I've pushed my stream up to more than 100 "viewers" a few times to prove that the viewer count was fake, all I did was made a script that opened the websocket connection a 100 times). Overlays work in the same way that is why every overlay you added or with every tab you opened your stream it counted for an additional viewer. So while the viewer count might seem lower on Vimm the real people watching are the same.

What it comes down too is that your channel is your brand and it's up to you to promote yourself. I've seen streamers that already had a audience before joining Vimm have a more than decent audience engagement and chat activity. We don't prohibit anyone from dual streaming (with the exclusion of some events we sponsor and maybe partnered streamers in the future) you should be able to maximize your reach to new potential viewers however you see fit and we don't want to put restrictions on that.

I hope we can welcome you on @vimm :)
